Consent Orders
At the conclusion of divorce proceedings in most cases the parties have reached an agreement about the home and finances. This agreement is then drawn up in a legal document called a Consent Order. If there is no ongoing maintenance for one of the spouses this order is called a Clean Break Consent Order. A clean break means that once the court makes the order neither party can have any claim on the other in the future apart from maintenance for children which does not normally form part of the order. It is very important that your specialist lawyer either drafts this order or checks any order prepared by anyone else to make sure you are completely protected.
We offer a fixed fee to prepare and obtain a consent order which we ensure is successfully approved by the divorce court.
